Unlock More Market Opportunities With VeoTrades
Margin and buying power let qualified traders access additional capital to maximize market opportunities. Compare cash and margin accounts, estimate your buying power, and understand the risk monitoring and protections built into the VeoTrades platform.
What is buying power?
Buying power is the total value of trades you can place at any given moment. In a cash account it equals your available cash. In a margin account it can be higher — qualified traders can typically access up to 2× their equity for overnight positions and up to 4× for intraday trades.
What's the difference between a cash account and a margin account?
A cash account lets you trade only with the money you've deposited — no borrowing and no leverage, which keeps things simple and lower risk. A margin account lets qualified traders borrow against their equity for extra buying power, with real-time margin monitoring and built-in risk protections.
Am I eligible for margin?
Margin is available to qualified traders who meet eligibility and account requirements. Your available buying power depends on your account equity, the type of positions you hold, and applicable margin requirements. You can start with a cash account and upgrade later once you qualify.
What happens in a margin call?
A margin call happens when your account equity falls below the required maintenance level — usually after losses on leveraged positions. You'll be asked to add funds or close positions to bring the account back into compliance. VeoTrades sends margin alerts and monitors maintenance requirements in real time to help you avoid surprises.
Is margin trading risky?
Yes. Trading with borrowed funds amplifies both gains and losses, so margin may not be suitable for every investor. That's why disciplined risk management matters, and why VeoTrades builds in maintenance monitoring, margin alerts, and live buying power calculations to keep your risk visible.
